Pau Mateu Sáez (born in 1998), is a creative director and filmmaker based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
In his work, he enjoys capturing his personal perspective of the world in any medium he is first drawn to. In touch with his feelings and his human relationships, his passion and energy thrive in an environment of connection, communication and collaboration with people. The personality of the artist informs the work’s poeticism and elegance by allowing his most fragile self to flourish.
Having graduated from his Film Production studies at Bournemouth Film School, his areas of work float freely around his interests and he does not hesitate to see what makes things tick. He began working in the Spanish underground music scene in 2017. In July 2019, he co-founded the creative collective Studio 666 and rapidly became recognised for his group and individual works.
In November 2019, for his 21st birthday, he released a poetry and photography book, and in January he was selected to open Dora Maar´s exhibition at the Tate Modern in London. Currently swinging between a wide range of disciplines, the expression of his emotions is palpable in his practices, be it through his personality or through the camera-pen, candidly portraying contemporary eventualities on the concerns of fragility, youth culture and poeticism.
In January 2021, the viralisation of a music video rapidly expanded the whole team’s area of creativity and allowed them all to establish themselves in the music industry.
Since then, he lives between Madrid and Mallorca, Spain, flowing between different disciplines and working freely on project of all kinds, always pushing powerful concepts and message as his signature element.
In October 2022, he founded the creative agency MIMO, and represents a roaster of production companies and multidisciplinary artists in the pursue of a caring, minute and personalised marketing service for musicians, events and brands. All of them intend to approach creative direction and filmmaking in a more personal manner, working closely with artists and clients and establishing tight bonds with them.
Some of his projects include Dani Fernández, Delaporte, Jordan Boyd, Kinder Malo, Lucía Bellido, Marc Seguí, Marina Reche, Marlon, Ovy On The Drums, Paula Cendejas, Pimp Flaco, SOG, Xavibo, Yung Nick, Zzoilo.
